WinFS gone before it had a chance

Well, it's official, WinFS is not coming to a Windows Vista install, or any other OS for that matter, ever.

The MSDN Blog for WinFS just let us all down.

Robert Scoble just posted about it as well.

After testing the Beta and actually starting to believe in this new way to store data I am disappointed. Microsoft is going to have to do something. If you read the comments on the MSDN blog you will see many people questioning what Microsoft is thinking. I don't see NTFS and FAT32 lasting forever. I am trying to get in on the exFAT Beta, but that is certainly not the answer for the mass storage of the future.
